Eating well shouldn’t need a spreadsheet.
Mealio is for people who want to cook more and think about it less. Pick your week — five dinners, two lunches, whatever fits — and the app balances nutrition, reuses ingredients across meals, and writes the grocery list for you. No calorie-counting guilt, no 40-ingredient recipes on a Tuesday.
Designed with eight home cooks, from hostel meal-preppers to parents of three.
Moodboards — fresh, light and calm won over “fitness-app neon” instantly.
Flow mapping — the ten-minute weekly plan, step by step.
Plans fail on Wednesday.
Everyone meal-plans on Sunday; by Wednesday the plan meets reality — a late meeting, missing paneer, zero motivation. Mealio had to flex: one-tap swaps that keep nutrition balanced, a grocery list that regroups by store aisle, and leftovers that get promoted instead of forgotten.
- Smart swaps that preserve the week’s nutrition balance
- Grocery lists grouped by aisle, merged across recipes
- Gentle streaks — progress without punishment
A week you can see at a glance.
The home screen is the whole week on one scrollable strip — breakfast to dinner, color-coded by effort, with tonight’s cook highlighted. Tapping a meal shows the recipe card; swiping it offers three equivalent swaps. Nutrition appears as a friendly ring, never a red warning.
In testing, all eight cooks built a full week in under twelve minutes — and seven said they’d actually keep it up.
